7 A new CROC? Children are different World in which they live is different Dynamic interaction with their world is better understood So much we do not know about Humbition- humility as we know so little, but ambition as we strive to make world better

8 A new CROC? 1.reconsider whether rights based approach is the best one 2.include a more explicit acknowledgment of CROC’s dependence on other factors in order to improve children’s lives 3.greater involvement by children in development and drafting 4.reduce involvement of 1st world countries in drafting, and increase involvement of 2 nd and 3 rd world countries 5.adopt multi-disciplinary approach to drafting, and one less reliant on lawyers 6.adopt a more explicit child developmental perspective 7.identify and address specific needs of specific groups of children
