Rural Placements The old system of rural undergraduate education was one of apprenticeship. For various reasons, the apprenticeship system is no longer acceptable. An adequate replacement system has yet to be developed and put into place.

GP Support Local contact person Adequate briefing –Student’s date of arrival –Teacher training Adequate and correct payment
Accommodation Close to practice Close to town Privacy Facilities Room and equipment in practice
Funding Accommodation –Reintroduction of ACCOG –Community Partnership/groups Ongoing costs –Organisation –Payment to the correct people
