1 The challenges of engaging in case management that works Greta Galloway, an experienced Social Worker practitioner, has been delivering training in Case Management across Queensland and interstate for over 6 years. Greta will share what she has learned to be the challenges with this system, for clients, Case Managers and for agencies working along-side Case Managers.. To register or for more information, call or This 2-hour session offers both a theoretical component and facilitated discussion. The workshop targets direct service providers and coordinators. Communities for Children is an Australian Government Initiative funded by the Department of Social Services. The Smith Family is the Facilitating Partner for Communities for Children in the Rockhampton LGA. Case management offers a process through which service providers assess each of the issues confronting a client in their “whole life” and together with the client, design a case plan through which the client has access to multiple service providers in a planned and coordinated way. This session will help us to think about how we can make case management work better for families in Rockhampton. 2 Skilled Case Conferencing and Stakeholder Meetings Date:Friday 14 March 2014 Time:11.30am – 1.30pm Venue:DCCSDS, Level 4, 36 East Street, Rockhampton Cost: Free To register or for more information, call or Case Conferences and stakeholder meetings are a common occurrence in the health and community services sector, to join-up service delivery. To make case conferences and stakeholder meetings work for families that we support, there is great deal of detail to attend to before, during and after the actual meeting. A broad range of skills and significant planning is required to make the meetings worthwhile and lead to successful outcomes. This 2-hour session is focussed to increase participants’ ability to engage effectively in stakeholder meetings and to facilitate them. The session is designed for both facilitators of meetings and participating agencies. This session will be facilitated by Dr Greta Galloway, an experienced social work practitioner with experience working with children and families both in Australia and internationally. They coordinate services to meet all of the challenges confronting a client in their life in a coordinated and accountable manner. So how do our organisations contribute to case management as the predominant model for the delivery of health and human services in Australia – so that the system works for families in Rockhampton? This session aims to move us further toward an across-sector, shared vision of case management practice. What does a functional system mean for how organisations in our region operate internally and across organisations?
