2 Collecting Data on Intermediated Business with APRA - Getting Started with D2A 2 Completing Form 701 Getting started with D2A Two modules are being provided to assist the getting started process. This is the second module

3 What is D2A A flexible, secure and user-friendly electronic data submission system. Provided free of charge by APRA. Enables you to complete, validate and submit Form 701 securely to APRA in an encrypted form using a direct internet connection. Data can be manually entered or imported directly into D2A from your own information systems. Previously submitted data can be retrieved, reviewed and re- submitted. 3

7 7 Authentication Access to the forms within D2A requires 2 further steps: Submission of a challenge letter Electronic request via D2A

8 8 Submitting a challenge letter Must be printed on YOUR companies letterhead A separate letter for each person submitting data Needs to be signed by an authorised person (not the person submitting data!) Download the template from our website at: http://www.apra.gov.au/statistics/Lodging-Returns-GI-Intermediaries.cfm

9 9 Electronic request via D2A Security  Generate Security Key Your challenge phrase – MUST match details shown on the challenge letter Your email address – MUST match details shown on the challenge letter Note: After installing D2A, before generating a security key, you MUST change your password. 11 Form submission process 11 1. Open return 2. Enter or import data 3. validate return 4. Any errors displayed 5. Mandatory errors 5. Confirmation errors 7. Submit to APRA YesNo Yes Revise data No Explain and confirm

12 12 Setup Opening screen after authentication and download of licensee specific forms. You may need to liaise with your software supplier to determine any enhancements that they have completed in regards to Form 701. You will need to refresh your forms each time you intend to lodge a new return to ensure you are using the latest version.

13 Functions in D2A 13 You can use the menu at the top or the short cut buttons Note: not all functions will apply to Form 701 Double click desktop icon to open D2A or open from directory

14 Open the Form for the current period 14 OR Click this button File  New Click to open the list Current period forms are available 8 weeks prior to submission due date

15 Find the form in the list 15 Click new with period selected Select the period of return Click refresh for latest version of form Select the return name

16 Check the pre-filled details 16 End date of reporting period i.e. 30 Jun or 31 Dec Name of AFSL ABN of AFSL AFSL number

17 No data to report – A NIL return is required! 17 Click in this box for a NIL return

18 Complete Table 1 18 Enter the premium in the correct column & row If the total of row C is not 0 then table 2 must be completed D2A will calculate the total of the rows and columns when form is validated

19 Save, Validate and submit 19 Save your input, you can come back to it later or go onto validate the data Validate the data

20 Submit and send to APRA 20 After any validation errors have been fixed submit the data Enter your D2A password (**** will be displayed)
