WAITING ON GOD In simple steps Watching closely for the next new move.
Psalm 123:1 Look higher than Lift up your eyes to God who dwells in the heavens, high above the self-satisfied who ignore you, and the arrogant who look down on you. (verse 4)
Psalm 123:2 Watch closely for As the servant watches his master’s hand, so our eyes watch for God’s guidance and direction Watch for the slightest signal that God wants you to do something! Be alert, be attentive!
Psalm 123:3 Pray repeatedly about “Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us; for we have had more than enough.” We pray persistently while God waits patiently. Then God moves suddenly (Luke 18:1-8)
Attentive Waiting The NT Greek word proskartereo indicates continual attendance and instant response. Acts 10:7 – “Those who waited on (Cornelius) continually.” Acts 1:14 & 2:42 & 6:4; Romans 12:12 & 13:6; Colossians 4:2
“They who entwine (bind together by twisting) themselves on the LORD shall exchange their strength” (Strong’s Concordance translation of “wait on” and “renew.”) Binding ourselves to God to exchange our weakness for His strength, our knowledge for His revelation.
