Mid-OctoberCompletion of channel excavation Late OctoberRiparian planting Early DecemberComplete hydraulic connection Spring 2010Marsh bench planting
Gateway Program Brae Slough Implementation: Straw Placement September 29, 2009: Covering exposed channel slopes with straw
Gateway Program Brae Slough Implementation: Amphibian Salvage October 2, 2009: Long toed salamander salvaged.
Gateway Program Brae Slough Implementation: Glover Pond – Placing root wad October 6, 2009 – Placing cottonwood LWD in Glover Road Pond
Gateway Program Brae Slough Implementation: In-line pond October 8, 2009 - Completed in-line pond, with LWD complexing.
Gateway Program Brae Slough Implementation: Planting November 3, 2009: Willow cuttings and planted stock along riparian bench
Gateway Program Brae Slough: November 3, 2009 – View of Brae slough enhancement from Glover Road
Gateway Program Mundy Creek Implementation Excavation complete for loop channel. LWD placement on loop channel complete. Riparian planting on north leg of channel loop (primarily hardhack and salmonberry) complete. Excavation of the channel extension has been initiated but not complete pending approval from the utilities and regulatory agencies. Hydraulic connection anticipated for summer 2010.
Gateway Program Mundy Creek - Implementation Excavation has been undertaken to ensure the channel and banks are roughly textured leaving a high proportion of overlying organic soil in place to provide an organic growing medium for plants.
Gateway Program Mundy Creek – LWD Placement Wood debris placement along north arm of channel looking west.
Gateway Program Mundy Creek Implementation: Complexing Tree stem anchoring. Cable attached to eye cemented in to buried boulder
Gateway Program Mundy Creek Implementation: Complexing October 8, 2009: Preparing anchor boulders.
Gateway Program Mundy Creek Implementation: Planting North leg showing planting densities. Planks placed to provide access across channel for planting crew.
