Voice is worse so I am NOT talking at all today. Why so happy?????? Thank you SOOOOOOO much to the 25 people who were the voice of AP Bio last night!! So what will we do today? -Record data from yesterday so that we get a classroom set of data -I will post on my website. -Make a scatter plot of all data -Should take no more than 10 total minutes -Come up to the computer & begin Next we will learn how to take blood pressures (handout, p877, Figure 42.12) -Clean with alcohol -Wrap cuff around arm just above elbow -Make sure artery is lined up -Make sure valve is closed….finger tight -Pump up cuff to >180 -Place stethoscope on bicep above the elbow -Gently “crack” valve to slowly let air out -Listen for first pulse sound (systolic) -Listen for last pulse sound (diastolic) -Record & switch roles with your partner -Talk in a whispers….not to support me but so you can hear better. -On Monday, we will do a “mini-fitness” test & check our BP & pulse.
Is every group’s data recorded here? Any questions…I will answer here
