Step 1: Architectural model Element categories: Thanks to the Add-Inns that StruSoft developed we can export the complete analytical model along with the information about the material and support conditions into external file that can be opened in FD anytime. 14 Are we aware that analytical model is important?
Architectural model Analytical model But are we aware that the analytical model is important? (click) Once we received this nice arch model and we were asked to export it to FD (click) But that was not possible, since there analytical model was not complete. We spent many hours trying to create it and adjust it. So can we make good models? (click) NO! Story on how MTH had a nice big building model made in Revit and they wanted to export it to FD, but the analytical model was not prepared at all. They spend lot of time trying to create it and djust it but finally gave up and decided to model it once again in FD. This is not BIM! Structural Design Software in Europe AB Slide 14

15 Do we know how to make a consistent models?
Physical model (click) Wery often we focus on the connections between the physical elements, (click) but we forget it is not the physical model that has to be exported but the analytical one. Often we see problems like that (click). And such as inconsisten model will not benefit when exported to any FEM-Software. Analytical model Structural Design Software in Europe AB Slide 15

16 Do we remember to include information?
Physical model BIM is pretty much about the information. (click) but often clients do not include them in the model. (click) And model without the defined material cannot be exported to any FEM-Software (click). Structural Design Software in Europe AB Slide 16

Making a good analytical model is difficult... Lack of analytical model Inconsistent model Lack of information in the model So Making a good analytical model is difficoult... (click 3 times) And those are the main issues we recognized while dealing with real projects from our customers. We observe increasing demand on training on how to make the model properly so one can benefit from exportiong ot to our software. So we teach that on a special course that we run in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, UK. Structural Design Software in Europe AB Slide 17
