2Breast Cancer is one of the most common types of cancer for women in the United States. Early Detection/Diagnosis is a proven reason for greater success/survival rates following treatment.
3What are some risk factors for breast cancer? You are at a higher risk of getting breastcancer if you:Are age 40 or olderHave a mother, sister or daughter who has/had breast cancerStarted your period before age 12Started menopause after age 55Had your first child after age 30Had no childrenHad a previous breast biopsyHave had breast cancer before
4What are the signs?A lump or thickening in or near the breast or underarm areaA change in the size or shape of the breastDischarge from the nippleA change in the color or feel of the skin on or around any part of the breast. The skin may be dimpled, puckered or scaly.These are signs of breast cancer. But, they also may be signs of less serious health conditions. Don’t panic. DO talk with your doctor as soon as you see any symptoms.
