7 No Child Left Behind Sec Primary goal is to improve student achievement via use of technology in elementary and secondary schools. Additional goals: To assist every student so that they are technologically literate by the time the student finishes 8th grade regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, family income, geographic location, or disability.

9 Goal All 8th grade students will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate their computer literacy skills and knowledge in the use of the Internet and Internet tools as well as basic productivity tools such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and common program functions. Measure of Effectiveness % of the total number of 8th graders tested. % of the total number of 8 th graders passing the certification exams.

10 Digital Transcripts show Achievement Credentials As students pass each exam their certification for that exam is posted in their digital transcript. Living Online (Required 2006) Key Applications (Required 2007)

11 Brief History of CLC Program conceived, developed and introduced to the schools to be piloted the following year Pilot schools received Windows based CLC computers. ~250 students tested ~20 students passed

12  49 schools participate.  Installation of local content servers completed  Aiea, ATRB, Lahainaluna, Waimea Canyon, Hilo  New curriculum and testing resources  Benchmark and Mentor  iQ6.01  New support resources  CLC Website and CLC Listserv  Training tutorials and manuals

13 Total number of 8th grade students = ~12000 Total number of students tested = 2372 Living Online = 815 Key Applications= 1557 Number of students who passed Living Online = 68 Key Applications= 211 SY CLC Program Data
