Suggestions For Helping Your Student Transition To College 1. Focus on communication rather than control. 2. Attend orientation and read parent handbook. 3. Try to be supportive. 4. Adjust expectations. 5. Expect changes. 6. Be positive. 7. Discuss changes to the home with your student.
