How many blocks would a car have to travel to get from the art museum to the gas station?
You would have to travel 5 blocks

How can you tell the distance in blocks between two points if you know the coordinates of the points? Add the (positive) difference in the x-coordinates to the (positive) difference in the y-coordinates. Art Museum (6, 1) & Gas Station (4, 4) x-coordinates: Difference between 6 & 4 is 2 y-coordinates: Difference between 1 & 4 is 3 Therefore = 5
