Darcie says, “Knowing the proper exit is a main essential when it comes to gettting out safely when a building is on fire.” -Pointing to exit sign, discussing importance of knowledge of exits
Nikki says: “discussing and practicing where to go during a real fire will assure your family and people’s safety. A place like the big oak tree in the front yard is a perfect example.” -Nikki stands near an oak tree, runs around it pretending to be waiting for family
Darcie says: “and if an item of clothing should catch on fire, don’t forget to Stop!” Sound: song-”Stop in the name of love” for 5 seconds Darcie begins showing the proper way to stop when on fire
Nikki says: “After you stop, you must drop!” Sound: Song “drop it like it’s hot” Nikki makes big gesture and drops to floor
Darcie says: “After you drop, you must roll to put the flame OUT!” Darcie starts on the ground, and explains how to roll, and begins rolling
Darcie says: “If you want to be safe when there is a fire, you have to follow these rules! Rule number 1-know your exits!” Nikki: “Rule number 2-find and remember your safety zone and meeting place” Darcie: “Rule number 3-Stop!” Nikki: “Drop!” Darcie: “Roll!” Darcie and Nikki stand next to each other holding signs with the rules on them and Darcie says her line, then Nikki etc.
