2 Physical Education Stresses the benefits of physical activity Focuses on fundamental skills of various activities. Students will gain a better understanding of their personal fitness by analyzing and assessing their own fitness level by implementing a long-term personal fitness plan to improve or maintain health-related physical fitness based on frequency, intensity, time and type Students will also utilize aspects of nutrition, stress management, and exercise to promote a personal fitness program and healthy lifestyles

3 Advanced Football Covers skill and conditioning drills Provides instruction on the rules, offensive and defensive plays and sets, and weight training. Students will use basic and advanced skills and tactics to participate competently in football Progression to the next level requires successful completion of the prior course and will build on skills learned in the previous course Prerequisite: Physical Education I or coach recommendation

4 Advanced Basketball Covers skills and conditioning drills Provides instruction on the rules, offensive and defensive plays and coaching strategies Students will use basic and advanced skills and tactics to participate competently in basketball Designed for students proficient in basketball skills Progression to the next level requires successful completion of the prior course and will build on skills learned in the previous course Prerequisite: Physical Education I or coach recommendation

5 Advanced Team Sport: Baseball Covers skills and conditioning drills Provides instruction on the rules, offensive and defensive plays and coaching strategies. Students will use basic and advanced skills and tactics to participate competently in baseball. Designed for students proficient in baseball skills. Progression to the next level requires successful completion of the prior course and will build on skills learned in the previous course. Prerequisite: Physical Education I or coach recommendation

6 Advanced Team Sport: Softball Covers skills and conditioning drills Provides instruction on the rules, offensive and defensive plays and coaching strategies Students will use basic and advanced skills and tactics to participate competently in softball Designed for students proficient in softball skills Progression to the next level requires successful completion of the prior course and will build on skills learned in the previous course Prerequisite: Physical Education I or coach recommendation

7 Advanced Team Sport: Volleyball Covers skills and conditioning drills Provides instruction on the rules, offensive and defensive plays and coaching strategies Students will use basic and advanced skills and tactics to participate competently in volleyball Designed for students proficient in volleyball skills Progression to the next level requires successful completion of the prior course and will build on skills learned in the previous course Prerequisite: Physical Education I or coach recommendation

8 Health Topics: health risks associated with alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, nutrition and the health benefits of proper diet and exercise, relationships, pregnancy, child birth, and sexually transmitted diseases.

9 Human Growth and Development 1 Study human development from conception to child birth. Examine physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and moral development. Learn skills to prepare you for future parenting and child care careers.

10 Human Growth and Development 2 Students will further examine pregnancy with a “Pregnancy Journal” Learn about development during the first five years of life. Examine physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and moral development for the first five years of life.
