THE MOSTLY TRUE ADVENTURES OF HOMER P. FIGG BY: RODMAN PHILBRICK PRODJECT BY: EVAN CAUFIELD

 This books genre is historical fiction because it takes place at the time of the civil war, witch did happen but the people and actions in the story are things that the author made up. GENRE

I think the main idea is to never give up because Homer did not give up even though he was captured by Stink and Smelt ( two murderers in the woods about if they should kill their captive slave or sell him ), escaped from general Lee in a hot air balloon, and tried to save his brother in the middle of a civil war battle! THE MAIN IDEA

 Homer Figg - main character ; Homer is trying to find his older brother who was sent out to war but was under age.  Harold Figg – Homers older brother.  Mr.brewster-A quaker man who adopts Homer and Harold.  Squint- Homer and Harold’s cruel uncle.  Mr.Willow-He was Homer’s gaurdian until Homer found his brother. CHARACTERS

 This story starts in Pine Swamp,Main at the time of the civil war. This story takes place in woods, citys, battle fields and many other places!  The setting in this story takes place at a time when the nation was divided into the north and the south because the north did not want slaves but the south wanted slaves and that is how this setting was formed. setting
