5 5 AREA FORECASTS FOR LOW-LEVEL FLIGHTS Prognostic Aeronautical Meteorological Officers Meteorological products for low-level flights Text FORECASTS in alphanumeric format in Russian √ Are more preferred for domestic users FORECASTS in GAMET form √ Are issued for international users SIGNIFICANT WEATHER CHARTS NOVOSIBIRSK LOW LEVEL ( below 700 hPa) MOSCOW LOW + MEDIUM LEVELS (below 400 hPa) √ Flight documentation √ Preflight preparation Annex 3 — Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation CHAPTER 6. FORECASTS When the density of traffic operating below flight level 100 (or up to flight level 150 in mountainous areas, or higher, where necessary) warrants the routine issue and dissemination of area forecasts for such operations, the frequency of issue, the form and the fixed time or period of validity of those forecasts and the criteria for amendments thereto shall be determined by the meteorological authority in consultation with the users.

6 6 II SIGWX FORECASTS  GIS Meteo (MapMaker Group LTD, Moscow)  based on output data of global model (UKMO, NCEP), region model (MM5R, MM5K, Hydrometcenter of Russia, Losev, other local models)  fixed time prognostic charts  period of validity ±3 hours  issued 4 times every day  completed not later than 6 hours after standard time of observation
