5 SOER 2015 Part C – Country fiches Country fiches based on 4 sections, each guided by a key question: 1.What main areas / sectors / themes are addressed in your respective national state of the environment (SOE) report? (ca 300 words) 2.What are the key findings of the national SOE report? (ca 900 words) 3.What are the main policy responses to key challenges/environmental concerns in your country? (ca 600 words) 4.What country specific issues in state of environment reporting would you like to highlight? (ca 600 words) CaCa

6 SOER 2015 Part C – Country fiches To support drafting of country fiches, we offer a common structure, template and guidance: based on experience with SOER 2010 guidance document; limit country fiche to 4 pages – ca 2400 words (incl. 1-2 figures) - tbc; guidance document includes illustrative examples for authors; based primarily on existing national SOE reports (or similar reports); need to ensure links with SERIS, SENSE and other SOER 2015 parts; currently exploring, how to deliver draft (word file or online or …); we suggest working language for country fiches will be English; currently discussing editing support EEA can provide to countries … CaCa

7 SOER 2015 Part C – Cross-country comparison fiches - Reminder Focus: A series of indicator-based country comparisons for 8 selected themes based on existing EEA and Eurostat indicators Format: 8 cross-country comparison fiches, 4 pages each; each based on one established indicator; in SOER 2015 online scope to link this national intepretation of same indicator via SENSE Basis: Prepared by EEA; cross-country comparisons based on indicators with country information; supplemented by SENSE Eionet: Eionet feedback on indicator selection and method (Oct 2013); Eionet consultation on cross-country comparison fiches (Mar/Apr 2014); plus (voluntary) contributions to SENSE CbCb
