10 Volunteers Resource Centre Volunteers Resource Centre The most recent project we initiated is the “Volunteers Resources Centre”, a partnership between nongovernmental organisations in our community and the local public administration. The project aims to promote non-formal education through voluntary work and to support the strengthening of NGOs capacity of providing services to the community. This project started in April 2005 and will be a permanent project of the foundation.Today this centre have the same more projects. The most recent project we initiated is the “Volunteers Resources Centre”, a partnership between nongovernmental organisations in our community and the local public administration. 11 Europe in Highschool Until 2009 we organised in the Caraş-Severin county the project called ”Europe in highschool”, a national wide project initiated by the Delegation of the European Commission in Romania, aiming at the information and training of young people in fields related and relevant to the new EU integration context to be starting with 2007. Throughout this project we trained so far over 350 students in project management. In 2006-2008 Activity Foundation was the coordinator of this project for the West Region of Romania, which includes the counties of Timiş, Hunedoara, Arad and Caraş-Severin.

12 4 times a woman manager Since 2005, we have been partners in PHARE Human Resources Development Scheme, with the project ”4 times a woman manager”, a project through which we provide training and the possibility to exchange experience to women managers in the business sector. 13 Art, Youth and the City We are laso parteners together with Belgium, France, UK, and the Check Republic in the project "Art, youth and the city", submitted by an Italian partner and approved by the European Commissions. The project includes several mobilities from which we have participated in the following: - working on-site visits: May 2008 in Reşiţa (Romania), June 2005 and April 2008 in Monza (Italy), May 2007 in Tamines, Belgium - workshops: multimedia workshop in November in Monza, Italy; graffiti and mixart in Tamines, Belgium; drama workshop in Eastbourne, UK.

14 Training for global development In 2005-2007 Activity Foundation participated in the project called GLODEV, “Training for global development“, an international Leonardo da Vinci project, developed locally in partnership with the Eftimie Murgu University. Our role was to provide training and counselling in 4 phases of the project. As a result of the project, the GLODEV Recruitment Model and the GLODEV Training Model have been developed. It is identified as an instrument to allow the implementation of complex learning (cognitive and emotional; operational and behavioural) by subjects who wish to acquire the professional characteristics of Local Development Agents in disadvantaged areas. The GLODEV Training Model is characterised by a number of innovative elements and techniques

15 Natural and Rural Environment Improvement through Adult Education The project tries to instil in the participants of urban centres the importance of conserving the natural and rural environments through the knowledge and understanding of the zone. The exchange among its members will permit to compare the ecosystems of the zones under study, discovering the differences among them (geographic, climatic, economic, social, etc.). In order to do that, the work will be done by editing digital presentations about environmental educational materials which gather the European walking routes proposed by the participants in this project. We will work with the participants in a workshop to learn and handle digital presentations and in another specific workshop to elaborate a digital presentation showing the selected walking European routes

17 In 2005-2006 we are promoter in PHARE CBC, with project „OUR COMMON FUTURE” (VUC) The purpose of the project is that of knowing and training the women from the two neighboring countries in order to improve their personal performances undertaking a long period cooperation that should contribute to their personal development and implicitly to a potentially economic development. Promotion of the project and creation of a data base with the women from the target group; The primary evaluation of the personal development needs; Acquisition of training equipment; Package development course; course evolution; Final evaluation of the target group; implementation of „The local development agent guide”; experience exchange (exhibition with traditional craftsmen products on extinction in the two regions), elaboration of resulted performance and dissemination indicators

19 „Good practices in the cross-border sustainable development” General objectives: 1. Improving the life quality standards in the regions of the project, through sustaining environmental education activities, of cross-border type, encouraging and supporting the creation of a network of sustainable development collaboration between environmental NGOs in the cross- border area, promoting and stimulating tourism development. 1. Promoting cross-border cooperation initiatives, through getting to know the lifestyles in the protected areas, facilitating the intercultural cross-border communication and consolidating the sustainable social- cultural links between the Romanian and Serbian from Caras-Severin and Voivodina, Vršac, the conservation of tangible local patrimony and the promotion of it. 2. Promoting cross-border cooperation initiatives, through getting to know the lifestyles in the protected areas, facilitating the intercultural cross-border communication and consolidating the sustainable social- cultural links between the Romanian and Serbian from Caras-Severin and Voivodina, Vršac, the conservation of tangible local patrimony and the promotion of it. 21 ‘ Attractive Vocational Guidance for Pupils’ – (2008-2010) Leonardo da Vinci project The aim of the project is to promote the attractiveness and effectiveness of vocational guidance services for pupils by adapting an innovative vocational guidance methodology from Turkey. 28 Structure and networking The Foundation is also part of the Romanian National Network of European Information Multipliers, with a focus on European Union’s education and youth programmes: Youth, Leonardo and Socrates. The activity of the Foundation is divided into six departments: Research Department, Training and Consultancy Environment, Public Relations, European Integration, Youth, “Equal opportunities through education”.
