2 Biography Mo Willems was born on February 11, 1968 in New Orleans. He lives in Brooklyn New York. His inspiration came from Charles Schultz’s “Peanut’s” comics. He even wrote a letter to Charles Schultz when he was a child saying that he wanted his job when he died. Mo was a standup comedian. He also wrote and animated for children’s television. He worked for Sesame Street. He created Sheep in the Big City for the Cartoon Network and the Off- Beats for Nickeleon.

3 Interesting Facts: His first book, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! won a Caldecott Honor in The following year Knuffle Bunny won a Caldecott Honor. Mo writes and illustrates from his home in Brooklyn, New York where he lives with his wife and daughter.
