My role as an educational leader in Henry County Schools Rebekah Flora Applicant for Position of Principal
The vision of Henry County… People Purpose Passion Possibilities I bring an understanding of all of these elements with me every day.
People Without good people working with you and for you, a school cannot succeed. I have outstanding people skills as represented in my work as a –Grade Level Chairperson –Differentiation of Instruction Lead Teacher –School Improvement Committee Chair –Social Committee Chair –National Education Association Building Representative
Purpose It has been said that where there is no vision, the people perish. I set a strong purpose for myself be striving to: –Model an example of a lifelong learner to my students and colleagues –Teach my students to desire knowledge –Encourage my students and coworkers to push themselves to new heights –Treat every child as one of my own and grow in them a desire to be the best they can be
Passion Passion has been defined as a powerful or compelling desire to accomplish a goal I show my passion in my work, as I am always trying to better myself through: –Bachelors Degree from Averett University –Masters Degree from Radford University –Working on National Board Certification –Outstanding test scores (for myself and my students) –Participation in Henry Countys DI Initiative
Possibilities When people, purpose, and passion come together, the possibilities are endless. I am a strong leader who can facilitate these given factors in the creation of an amazing school, where no possibility is impossible.
My personal vision statement: I believe that every child, who is nurtured, cared for, and given high expectations; who is taught with passion for the subject; and who is made to see that learning is a lifelong process, can reach and surpass any expectations that they are given. I believe adults who are led in a fair, nonjudgmental way; who are given the opportunity to participate in shared decision making; and who are passionate about their craft, create in themselves and their students outstanding citizens and lifelong learners.
