Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 7 Update on Registration for Transition to Nodal Market (continued) As discussed at the June 6 th Registration Kick-Off Meeting, other Registration information is needed beyond Steps 1-4 in transitioning to the nodal market. ERCOT will begin process to formally describe and track the following activities for transitioning to Nodal: Confirming Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Submitting Eligible contracts and entitlements for PCRRs Declaration of NOIE Load Zones Submission of Verifiable Costs Dynamic Scheduling Registration activities (if any)

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 8 Outlook for timing of Registration Activities: Feb 08 Mar 08 Dec 07Nov 07Jan 08 Oct 07 Aug 07Sep 07 Jul 07 Standard Form Agreements A/S Attestation RARF PCRR Paperwork RARF- 9/1/07 SFA- due early Oct 07 Attestation- due 9/1/07 RARF #2 ? 10 Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 10 Resource Asset Registration Form Resource Asset Registration Form (RARF) update: –RARF will be released in a phased (iterative) approach to support EDS releases. Iterations will lead to signed/certified RARF in 2008. –TPTF commented and reviewed RARF at July 24 meeting 50+ comments from 3 Market Participants Highlights include: –Request ERCOT to provide glossary and improve descriptions of data requested and how the data is used –ERCOT communicated there is no resubmission needed for PTI/PSSE Model data –ERCOT clarified RARF is needed for Mothballed Units

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 11 Resource Asset Registration Form Resource Asset Registration Form (RARF) update: –First RARF data set releasing today to support EDS3 activities Resource Entities to provide limited set of Resource asset data To assist in process, ERCOT will email by end of week (Aug 3) each Resource Entity a copy of the current data on record –Copy of Zonal GARF spreadsheet, and partially pre-populated RARF Due date of 9/01/07 –No signature required –Can be submitted via TML Service Request (directions in form)

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 12 Resource Asset Registration Form First iteration of RARF is filtered to request only enough data to support EDS3 Other Highlights: Color coding Different worksheets for different resource types Glossary available

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 13 Registration Meeting- #3 Agenda: Anti-Trust Admonition & Roll Call Update on Registration Activities Resource Asset Registration Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Next Steps Questions and Answers

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 14 Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Associated Market Metric MP10 - Mapping of Resources to Resource Nodes and Resources to Revenue Quality Meters –Reported By: QSE with Resource & ERCOT –Target Completion: Start Go Live Activities less 120 days –Metric Description: ERCOT shall ensure that all participating resources in the TN Market have completed their mapping of Resources to Resource Nodes and Resources to Revenue Quality Meters –Background: It is the intent of this metric to ensure that the settlement of resources involved in a net metering configuration can be executed as specified by the Nodal Protocols

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 15 Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Associated Market Metric MP10 - Mapping of Resources to Resource Nodes and Resources to Revenue Quality Meters –Criteria: The Readiness Team will review documentation that verifies that all participating resources in the TN Market have completed their mapping of Resources to Resource Nodes and Resources to Revenue Quality Meters –Readiness will be achieved when each resource has either mapped their Resources or have accepted the existing default configuration

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 16 Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Network Model Updates, Mapping and Data Exports EPS Meter Modeling –EPS Meters included in an EPS Metering Design Proposal for Generation Facilities are added to the Network Model Mapping of generation unit (s) to EPS Meter (s) –Mapping is based on which EPS meter (s) could measure the energy flow for each registered generation unit based on the normal condition of breakers and switches –Mapping is static Mapping of generation unit to Resource Node –Each generation unit is mapped to a single Resource Node

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 17 Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Network Model Updates, Mapping and Data Exports Data exports –Drawing with the location of: Generation unit (s) Telemetry EPS Meter (s) –Tables for mapping of: generation unit to Resource Node generation unit (s) to EPS Meter (s)

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 18 Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Documentation Review and Sign-off ERCOT –Wholesale Client Services contacts Generation Resource representative to initiate documentation review process Anticipate this to start December 2007 or January 2008 Includes drawing with the location of generation unit (s), telemetry and EPS Meter (s) Includes table with default mapping of generation units to Resource Nodes Includes table with default mapping of generation unit (s) to EPS Meter (s)

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 19 Generation Resource Mapping to EPS Meters Documentation Review and Sign-off Generation Resource representative –Reviews documentation –Provides any recommendations for changes or corrections Collaboration between ERCOT and Generation Resource Representative (TDSP may be involved depending on issue) –Obtain agreement on documentation ERCOT –Update documentation as agreed upon Generation Resource Representative –Provides final review and sign off on drawing and tables

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 20 Registration Kick-Off Meeting- Follow-Up (Mtg#2) Agenda: Anti-Trust Admonition & Roll Call Review of High-Level Registration (and Qualification) Activities Review of Nodal Registration and Qualification Guide Review updated Registration Forms Review Timeline Next Steps Questions and Answers

Lead from the front Texas Nodal http://nodal.ercot.com 21 Next Steps- and Questions/Answers Next Steps Released and due Sept 4, 2007 (adjusted for holiday) –First iteration of RARF from Resource Entities –Attestation of Qualification for Ancillary Services Later this week: –Watch for Market Notice to begin 60-day execution cycle of Standard Form Agreement Next meeting is tentatively mid-September –Registration update and focus on CRR/PCRR preparation Questions/Comments Contact info: Nodal Transition Readiness Center; NodalMarketTransition@ercot.com / 512 248-3900 NodalMarketTransition@ercot.com Or Tom Legan / tlegan@ercot.com / 512.248-6556tlegan@ercot.com
