Importing Do Not Call Records  And other text files, such as customer records.

Importing Text Files  The text file import utility enables users to import downloaded Do Not Call Records or their own text file of records (a customer file, for example) into Criss+Cross Plus Real Estate.

 Once imported, your records are matched against records contained on the CD. Matching records are flagged (highlighted) on the file.  By importing and flagging records you can exclude those records from printing or exporting.

Do Not Call Records  TO DOWNLOAD NATIONAL DO NOT CALL RECORDS (and for more information about DO NOT CALL regulations), log onto and follow online instructions.

Downloading Records  FOR STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON DOWNLOADING THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL RECORDS, go to and enter "ndnc.exe" in the area labeled "Enter file name to download."

Running the Import Utility  To run the file import utility, first open the Criss+Cross program Real Estate V3, V3i or CC+ V6, and click “Import.”

 Then click “Run File Import Utility” selection, which will bring you to the File Import Utility Welcome Screen, shown here. Click “Next” to continue on to Step 1.

Deciding The Type of Import  Select “phone number” to import only phone numbers of your records. This is useful when importing Do Not Call records, which often includes a phone number. IMPORTANT: Your phone numbers must have an area code to successfully import them.

 Select "names and addresses" to import names, addresses, and zip codes of your records.  Click “Open File” and browse for the text file saved previously (954dnc), as shown on the next screen.

 After selecting your previously saved text file, click “Open” to go back to the “Open File” screen:

AND THE NEXT BUTTON WILL BE ENABLED TO CONTINUE ON.  Click “Next” to continue on to Step 3 “Determine if the file is delimited or fixed."

 Click the radio button for “Delimited,” and “Which row of the file would you like to start importing?” should remain “1.” Click “Next” to continue on to Step 4 “Determine the fields (if the file is delimited).

 Checkmark the box for “Comma,” and click the “Text Qualifier” drop down box to select {None}. Click “Next” to continue on to Step 5 “Determine which columns are to be imported."

 Click “Phone Number is in” drop down box and select “Column 1.” By doing so a brief message will appear as shown below:

 Click “Yes” to continue Step 5.

 After clicking “Yes,” click “Phone No. also in” drop down box to select “Column 2.” By doing so “Next” will enable you to continue on to Step 6 “Indicate specifics about the records."

 Click the radio button to select “Do not call these records.” Yellow is the default color that Criss+Cross will use to show the National Do Not Call Records in our database unless changed otherwise by clicking “Change color.” Please provide a descriptive name for this list to show what records in yellow stand for when doing searches in the Criss+Cross program. Click “Next” to continue on to the final step of the import process.

 Click the radio button for “Add only new records to phone number database” and click “Finish.”
