Rising up as you look left to right, yeah, that slope must be positive.
Vertical lines rise but never do run so their slopes, they must be undefined.
Parallel lines have same slopes, so they never intercept
If slopes are opposite reciprocals, perpendicular lines have arrived! Rise = 4 Run=3 S l o p e = 4 / 3 Rise = -3 Run= 4 S l o p e = - 3 / 4
It’s the slope of the line, the trait that identifies ratio of the rise to the run. RISE RUN (x 1,y 1 ) (x 2,y 2 ) It’s the difference of y over the difference of x and you’ve got it what we call the slope… of a line.
