Will backpack weight always be proportional to hiker weight? Describe the process for writing the equation

What must be known to find a missing value regardless of the method used? Now that we know the ratio of hiker weight to backpack weight can we find both these parts given only total weight? Find the hiker weight and backpack weight if the total weight is 120lbs.
