2 C2SM, 05-0122TD, 07-0216TAJune 18, 2009 Project Motivation Reduce exposure to first responders investigating CBRN crime scenes –Decontamination may destroy vital evidence –Personal protection almost impossible in RN scenes It is essential to develop technologies that –Reduce the need to enter the scene by using Remotely controlled equipment Long stand-off sensors –Maximize responders productivity reducing thus the time in the scene and their exposure –Provide situational awareness to operators of teleoperated equipment –Create permanent digital records of the scene
