Agenda 9/10/13, 9/11/13 1)Introduction to Photoshop: Skills to learn and master: Pixel based art and resolution Workspace Palettes Navigation Selections Transformations 2) Discuss and begin Photoshop Assignment #1: see slide 3 3) Complete and turn in the Elements of Art and Principles of Design Project. DUE by end of class TODAY *If you completed digitally you will need to print in color on your own and turn in. *Save your digital work in at least 2 places: email it to yourself save on a thumb drive save to your student home drive set up a free online storage account at www.box.net
Sketchbook Expectations Title each sketchbook entry with sketch/write #__ and date the entry Fill at least half the page with your response whether it is a sketch, research, notes, thumbnails for a project, etc. All sketchbook entries must be numbered, dated, and kept in numerical order. Use color! You may use the front and back of each page.
Photoshop Assignment #1: Mr./Miss Veggie Head or Edible Architecture Create a face (beginner) or edible architecture (more advanced) by selecting individual vegetables and removing them from their backgrounds. Move them, duplicate & transform them. Requirements: 1)File size: 8X10, 150 ppi, RGB color mode 2)Include all vegetables from the veggie.jpeg pic on the website. You may also include more vegetables or fruit of your own. Use freedigitalphotos.net to download oics. 3) Clean selections: Remove images with selection tools: quick select, magic wand, lasso 4) Must see Transformation of objects in: Size/scale Hue/saturation Rotation Duplication 5) Include a background: gradient or picture. 6) TITLE this document your last name_veggie.psd and save in your H drive.
Log in Procedure: Logging in to your personal H drive: 1)Click on the blue drive at the right side of the doc with 3 people on it. It says StuHome 2)A dialog box appears. 3)Enter your username (last name first initial last 4 digits of SI) and password (you should have changed your password to 7 characters or less on a school PC) Click OK. 4)A dialogue box appears again. Select Stuhome Click OK. 5)You are now logged in to your personal H drive only. This is where you save your work.
End of class Procedure Log out Shut down (periods 5 & 6 only) Clean up your work area: throw all trash, return supplies and books to materials table, push in your chair Wait at your desk until the bell rings
