2 MICROORGANISM IN WELL WATER  Microorganisms are often illustrated as single- celled or unicellular organisms and properties are microscopic (only with a microscope).  well water is kind of water without human treatment because that is directly taken from nature of the soil (Sukarsono, 2008).  The microorganism in well water shows that it is polluted. We can determine the type and the level of pollution or contamination with several test.

5 PATHOGEN MICROORGANISM IN WELL WATER  Enterobacter aerogenes  Characteristics: Gram negative, anaerobic, rod- shaped, pathogenic and usually cause disease in urinary tract and septicimia.  Klebsiella pneumoniae  Characteristics: Gram negative, anaerobic, non- motile, rod-shaped with a prominent polysaccharide- based capsule, generally cause pneumonia. (Shittu, 2008)

6 PATHOGEN MICROORGANISM IN WELL WATER  Escherichia coli  Characteristics: Gram negative, anerobic, not capsulated, the cell can single or in pairs and in short chain, not produce spores, move with flagella, cause diarrhea disease.  Shigella dysenteriae  Characteristics: Gram negative, anaerob, a rod- shaped bacteria, slender, not capsulated, cannot move, not produce spores, cause dysentery disease. (Oliver, 2005)

7 PATHOGEN MICROORGANISM IN WELL WATER  Salmonella thyposa  Characteristics: Gram negative, form like rod, cannot form spores but have fibria, aerob, cause typhus disease.  Vibrio cholerae  Characteristics: Gram negative, anaerobic, rod-bent like comma, move with flagella, cannot form spores, can grow in base pH and will be die in acid pH, cause cholera disease. (Roy, 2011)

8 NON PATHOGEN MICROORGANISM IN WELL WATER  Actinomycetes  Characteristics: Gram positive, play role in decomposition the organic material for increase the reserve of nutrients in the soil to form humus, not like a pH below 6, most aerobic and some species anaerobic, produce a spores. (Marosa, 2012)
