Conclusions Curcumin induces cytotoxicity of BCPAP cells. Induction of apoptosis and autophagy as the likely underlying mechanism that is responsible for the cytotoxicity of curcumin. Curcumin inhibited AKT pathway and activated mitogen- activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling thereby inducing autophagy.
