In addition to commercial RTD services and In-house developments, PARAGON participates to EC research projects as an RTD Performer. Participation to 23 EC research projects spanning research domains that include Aeronautics / Surface Transport, ICT / IST, Security, Energy, Environment, NMP and Innovation & SMEs. Member to several EU research initiatives, such as the European Technology Platform on Smart Systems Integration (EPoSS) and the Energy Efficient Buildings European Initiative (E2B EI). Commercial activities include Engineering, Measurements, Consultancy services, and Representation of Industrial & Scientific Instrumentation Manufacturers to markets in Greece and S.E. Europe.

REA Info Day on FP7 Security Research – Brussels - 16 September 2009 Security Project Example #1 SENSE: Smart Embedded Network of Sensing Entities (IST 5, Embedded Systems) Development of Methods, Tools and a Test Platform for the design, implementation and operation of Smart Adaptive Wireless Networks of Embedded Sensing Components. An Ambient Intelligent System which Adapts to its Environment Creates Ad-hoc Networks of Heterogeneous Components Delivers Reliable Information to its Component Sensors and the User. The sensors cooperate to build and maintain a Coherent Global View from local information. The network is Scalable due to local information processing and sharing, and Self-organizes based on the physical placement of nodes. A Civil Security Monitoring Platform (Terminal Surveillance), will be developed (Video & Acoustic Sensing, Detection, Tracking) and installed in Krakow International Airport, to yield Real data and Performance goals from a realistic test environment.
