Key component of A14 Rhine Valley Highway and European road network 2 nd Tube required due to increasing traffic and stricter safety standards. 6.6 km new 2 nd tube excavated by TBM 12.5 m. Geology: Molasse: conglomerates, sandstone, shale, claystone Double-shell lining with a backfilled, non-watertight segmental lining waterproofing membrane between segments and cast-in-place lining 15 cross-passages between the tunnel tubes, 7 lay-bys Rehabilitation of existing tube BERNARD SERVICES Site supervision and construction management TOTAL PROJECT COSTS 218 Mio.
