1 The Cross Applied 1Co 15:3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 1Co 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world

2 The Cross Applied (Faith)
Rom 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.“ Gal 3:11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." Heb 10:38 NOW THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; BUT IF ANYONE DRAWS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM." Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Hab 2:4 "Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

3 The Cross Applied (Faith)
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Rom 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Joh 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

4 Well Tap Pipe (Faith)

5 Source of Faith Mar 11:21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. Mar 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have the faith of God Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

6 Measure of Faith Great Faith or Little Faith Luk 17:3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Luk 17:4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him." Luk 17:5 And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." Luk 17:6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

7 Measure of Faith (NKJV) For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

8 Do you know, I now think that this striving, longing, hoping for better days to come is not the true way to holiness, happiness or usefulness. It is better, no doubt, far better than being satisfied with poor attainments, but not the best way after all. I have been struck with a passage from a book entitled Christ Is All. It says, "The Lord Jesus received is holiness begun; the Lord Jesus cherished is holiness advancing; the Lord Jesus counted upon, as never absent would be holiness complete. . -

9 "He is most holy who has most of Christ within, and joys most fully in the finished work. It is defective faith which clogs the feet and causes many a fall" This last sentence, I think I now fully endorse, To let my loving Saviour work in me His will, my sanctification, is what I would live for by His grace. Abiding, not striving nor struggling; looking off unto Him; trusting Him for present power; . . -resting in the love of an almighty Saviour, in the joy of a complete salvation, "from all sin"-this is not new, and yet 'tis new to me. I feel as though the dawning of a glorious day had risen upon me. I hail it with trembling, yet with trust. I seem to have got to the edge only, but of a boundless sea; to have sipped only, but of that which fully satisfies. Christ literally all seems to me, now, the power, the only power for service, the only ground for unchanging joy. -

10 Looks away from self and feeling and experience to the Truth in Jesus
Position of Faith Looks away from self and feeling and experience to the Truth in Jesus Col 2:6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, Col 2:7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

15 To consent to being loved while unworthy is the great secret
Simplicity of Faith Luk 18:17 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.“ To consent to being loved while unworthy is the great secret No matter what you feel or who you are or what you have done Mar 7:27 But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." Mar 7:28 And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs."

16 Simplicity of Faith Faith does not create It Rests on God
Knowing reckoning and yielding to God because of the facts . Christ has done all to place us in Himself. Do not chase your feelings. Do not put it to your account because you feel it but because it is so. Do not hold up your sincerity as if that will win the day Being earnest and sincere is not the answer The day has been won by Jesus Believe it

22 Isa:14:12: How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how you are cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations!13: For you hast said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:14: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.15: Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

23 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
Eze 28:13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

24 Eze 28:14 "You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. Eze 28:15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till sin was found in you. Eze 28:16 "By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones.

25 2. To remove the law's power over you
Col 2:14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Rom 7:6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter. dead to the law

26 Rom 6:7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
4. To put you to death Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Rom 6:7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. dead to the power of sin and self

27 New creation out with the old in with the new clear the slate (2 Cor 5:17)
patch old garments new (Mark 2:22) Don’t try to train the flesh application of this truth is by faith life that I now live Gal 2:20 By Jesus alone take up the cross grain of wheat Death in the moment

28 (Mat 10:38) And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
(Mat 16:24) Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (Mar 8:34) When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

29 Joh 12:20 Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.
Joh 12:21 Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus." Joh 12:22 Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus. Joh 12:23 But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.

30 Joh 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. Joh 12:25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Joh 12:26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

31 5. Dead to the world Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 1Pe 2:10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1Pe 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.

32 1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1Co 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

33 Practical Application of this Truth
Truth will set you free Joh 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." Joh 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

34 6.Peace with God Col 1:20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Rom 5:10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

36 Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Gen 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

37 In the image of God We are community

42 To restore us to community with God
God’s Redemptive Plan To restore us to community with God To Restore us to community with one another Luk_10:27 So he answered and said, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND,' and 'YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'"

43 Heb 10:19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, Heb 10:20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,

46 7 Peace with others (one family) Eph 2:16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. Eph 2:17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.

47 Made Alive in Him Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), Eph 2:6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

48 Eph 1:15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, Eph 1:16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: Eph 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Eph 1:18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

49 Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

50 Body Rom 12:5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 1Co 12:12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. Co 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

51 1Co 12:14 Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part.
1Co 12:15 If the foot says, "I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand," that does not make it any less a part of the body. 1Co 12:16 And if the ear says, "I am not part of the body because I am not an eye," would that make it any less a part of the body? 1Co 12:17 If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything?

52 1Co 12:18 But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where He wants it.
1Co 12:19 How strange a body would be if it had only one part! 1Co 12:20 Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. 1Co 12:21 The eye can never say to the hand, "I don't need you." The head can't say to the feet, "I don't need you." 1Co 12:22 In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.

53 Building 1Pe 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1Co 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.

54 (Joh 15:17) These things I command you, that you love one another.
(Joh 13:34) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. (Joh 13:35) By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (Joh 15:12) This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. (Joh 15:17) These things I command you, that you love one another.

55 (1Pe 1:22) Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, (1Pe 3:8) Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; (1Pe 4:8) And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "LOVE WILL COVER A MULTITUDE OF SINS." (1Jo 3:11) For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, (1Jo 3:23) And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

56 (1Jo 4:7) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. (1Jo 4:11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1Jo 4:12) No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. (2Jo 1:5) And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. (Rom 12:10) Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

57 (Rom 13:8) Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. (1Th 3:12) And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, (1Th 4:9) But concerning brotherly love you have no need 1Th 4:9 But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

58 (Rom 12:5) so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
(Rom 12:16) Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. (Rom 15:5) Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, (Rom 15:7) Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. (Rom 15:14) Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

59 (Rom 16:16) Greet one another with a holy kiss
(Rom 16:16) Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you. (1Co 16:20) All the brethren greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. (2Co 13:12) Greet one another with a holy kiss. (1Pe 5:14) Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen. (Jam 5:16) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (1Co 11:33) Therefore, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.

60 (1Co 12:25) that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. (Gal 5:13) For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (Gal 6:2) Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Eph 4:25) Therefore, putting away lying, "LET EACH ONE OF YOU SPEAK TRUTH WITH HIS NEIGHBOR," for we are members of one another. (Eph 4:32) And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

61 (Eph 5:19) speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, (Col 3:16) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Eph 5:21) submitting to one another in the fear of God. (Col 3:13) bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. (Eph 4:2) with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,

62 (1Th 4:18) Therefore comfort one another with these words.
(1Th 5:11) Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. (Mar 9:50) Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another." (Joh 13:14) If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. (Heb 3:13) but exhort one another daily, while it is called "TODAY," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

63 (Heb 10:24) And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
(Heb 10:25) not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. (1Pe 4:9) Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. (1Pe 4:10) As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

64 (1Pe 5:5) Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE." (1Jo 1:7) But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

65 Negative (1Co 6:7) Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated? (Gal 5:15) But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! (Gal 5:26) Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Col 3:9) Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

66 (Jam 4:11) Do not speak evil of one another, brethren
(Jam 4:11) Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. (Tit 3:3) For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. (Rom 14:13) Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way.
