1. Tardona is a village of 1192 inhabitants in the midwestern part of Borsod county, at the northwestern foot of the Bükk mountain. The first reference of the settlement is from 1240. Mór Jókai, a well-known Hungarian romantic author found a shelter here after the war of independence, in 1849.

2. Accommodation The Gétót guest-house is a lovely place to stay in Tardona. It is in the heart of the village.

3. Places to visit You can visit to the Tardona fishing lake from which you have an excellent view on the surrounding forrests and hills, it is always peaceful so you can relax well here at any time of the year.

This is the Mór Jókai memmorial builiding You can find Mór Jókai’s books here, and you have opportunity to have a look at them, and watch the natural, living world of the Bükk like special animals and many other traditional things, too. The other famous place in Tardona is the Mór Jókai memmorial building with lots of objects used by the gorgious writer.
