23 Waarom integreren?  Integratie dient er vaak voor om bestaande applicaties te koppelen aan het procesbesturingssysteem  Integratie is gebaseerd op de uitwisseling van sleutels waarmee gegevens worden ontsloten  Bij voorkeur transporteert de procesmanagementlaag uitsluitend sleutels tussen de bestaande systemen, zodat hergebruik van data mogelijk wordt, zonder deze zelf te onttrekken en door te geven  De praktijk is echter vaak minder streng in de leer!
