Introduction Classrooms becoming bilingual and certainly multicultural realities. Why is identity important? Teachers can prepare to help students adjust Future implications and areas of needed studies
Identity and Culture Why is identity important? In the process of learning, identity can not be underestimated. Students schooled with a deflated, nonexistent, or outlawed sense of self have considerable difficulty learning, much less taking aggressive ownership of their lives and life choices. Conclusions As instructors we can help (guide and support) our students navigating the creation of new identities in relationship to technology (facebook). Aide in construction of healthy identity For future study: Safety..as the digital divide between parents and children is becoming larger, will teachers need to become more proactive in bridging that divide? How can we help our students fight against txt bullyinging or cyber bulling if this has not happened to us? As a person of color I thought it is similar to oppressive things that have happened to minorities.
