The warning system will activate whenever power and/or flap are set to a “landing” configuration but the gear is not down and locked.

The landing gear system is electrically activated, hydraulically actuated.
Hydraulic actuators move the gear up and down.
Gear is held up by hydraulic pressure and down by mechanical downlock latches internal to each actuator.
Absent hydraulic pressure, gear will extend through gravity.

Electrically Activated:
Cockpit gear handle activates switch to energize the hydraulic power pack motor which, in turn, pumps fluid into the retract side of the system.
Powerpack delivers psi. When up, system maintains pressure to keep gear in retracted position. Drop below 1170psi causes pump to active until standard pressure is achieved.

Electrically Activated:
Cockpit gear handle activates switch to energize the hydraulic power pack motor which, in turn, pumps fluid into the extend side of the system.

In the event of an electrical or hydraulic system failure, gear extension is accomplished by pulling out the guarded emergency extension red knob. This is connected by cable to a relief valve. Gear will then gravity fall into the extended position. Note: pull the “hydraulic pump power” CB before pulling the extension knob. Note: After moving guard out of the way, it requires approximately 25 lbs pressure to pull the release knob out. If unable to get 3 green, slow to 90 knots indicated and yaw the airplane left and right until all 3 gear are down and locked.
