Spotters walk ahead and around of the operating lift and pay special attention to the lift route of travel to watch and warn the operator about: Doorways Blind corners Low overhead clearances People approaching from front or rear Hazards on the floor like power cords or tools
Automatic doors must be propped or held open long enough to allow the lift to pass through the doorway When entering and exiting the elevator, spotter must hold the Door Open button open until the lift is fully on or fully off the elevator car.
