6 eCHRIS Self Service Employees use eCHRIS Self Service to make Open Enrollment Changes If you do nothing during Open Enrollment, your current enrollments continue through 2014 except Flexrap

7 eCHRIS Self Service Make changes to your coverage during Open Enrollment as often as you wish. Changes in eCHRIS at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15 th take effect on January 1, 2014.

8 Documentation Documentation is required when adding a spouse or child to coverage –Marriage license –Birth certificate –Legal adoption paperwork –Legal guardianship paperwork Employees must repay the City for any claims incurred by ineligible dependents.

12 Optional Life Insurance Voluntary group term life coverage, 100% paid by the employee. Available for employee, spouse, child(ren). Comprehensive coverage that can provide a lump sum amount for certain diseases or when a condition is terminal. Is not automatic - subject to underwriting approval.

13 Evidence of Insurability ALWAYS REQUIRED for spouse coverage ALWAYS REQUIRED when an employees coverage exceeds $150,000. ALWAYS REQUIRED when the employee requests a coverage increase of more than $20,000 It is the employees responsibility to complete an Evidence of Insurability Form and mail it to Cigna postmarked no later than November 22, 2013. 16 Save When You Complete an HRA In 2014 save $25 per month ($12.50 per paycheck) when you complete a health risk assessment. Thats $300 in savings per year! Complete your HRA by November 15 th to be sure you get credit January 1, 2014. The current premium differential ends on December 31, 2013.

31 Health Savings Account (HSA) Offers a Triple Tax Advantage 1.Deposits: Money is deposited on a pre- tax basis from your paychecks 2.Earnings: Investment income is not taxed 3.Withdrawals: Funds may be used for qualified medical expenses without tax liability

32 Health Savings Account (HSA) Money in your HSA rolls forward from year to year. You may invest your HSA funds in excess of $2,000 in 13 choices from Charles Schwab. Pay out-of-pocket medical, pharmacy, dental and vision expenses. Save for the future! Use the HSA when you retire to pay your premiums. The City contributes $500 in January.

33 Sd f Contribute to Your HSA For 2013, the maximum tax-free contributions the IRS allows you to make to your HSA are: – Single-coverage: $3,300 – Family-coverage: $6,550 – Catch-up contribution, age 55 or older: $1,000 – The $500 City contribution counts toward these maximums. Increase, decrease, or stop your contributions using eCHRIS Self-Service.

34 Important Points to Know The full cost for prescriptions counts toward the deductible. –When the deductible is fulfilled, pharmacy is co-pay based Family coverage: The medical and pharmacy expenses incurred by everyone enrolled go toward the deductible (at contracted rates) until $3,000 is reached.

39 Flexrap Reminders Flexrap enrollment does not carry over year to year –If you want to be enrolled in 2014 you must enroll during Open Enrollment There is a use or lose it provision per IRS –If you dont spend all the money youve contributed, it does not roll over.

40 Flexrap with a Health Savings Account The IRS does not allow you to use Flexrap for medical or pharmacy expenses while you are enrolled in an HSA. –You can use Flexrap on a Limited Purpose basis for dental and vision expenses only.
