Rice Regional Dental Clinic – Willmar, MN 4 DDS students rotate through the dental clinic every 4 weeks. 1 DT student rotates through every 2 weeks. 2 DH students rotate through every 2 weeks. RRDC hours of operation: Pediatric Residents see patients 40% of the time. Rice Regional Dental clinic is a ten chair dental clinic located within Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota. Target population is the 19-counties of west central and southwest Minnesota. Rural model for new dental team.

Objective D – Pediatric Residency Hospital Externship Program: To expand the externship program of the pediatric residency training program at Rice Memorial Hospital Dental Clinic located in Willmar, Minnesota to include the provision of dental treatment under general anesthesia. New ActivitiesDateStaff/ Partners OutcomesMeasures 1. Equip the Rice Memorial Hospital operating room with a dental delivery cart, a digital dental radiography system, and related items necessary for performing comprehensive diagnostic and restorative dental treatment under general anesthesia in the operating room. January 2010 Beiraghi, Grothe, Schulz, Pediatric Dental Residents, Rice Memorial Hospital Medical, Dental, and Auxiliary and Allied staff. Improved access to a higher level of pediatric dental care to the dentally underserved low income children who reside in Willmar, MN and the surrounding rural communities – allowing the establishment of local pediatric dental home for these children. Increase in the University of Minnesotas outreach commitment and access to specialty university resources.
