What is evaporation good for? Evaporation is good for separating Water from salt water Water from muddy water Water from mixtures Separating things from one another
Experiments for you to try Evaporation Aim: To separate salt from water. Materials Bunsen burner evaporating basin tripod and gauze mat salt solution Method 1. Carefully pour some salt solution into an evaporating dish. 2. Set up the Bunsen burner under the tripod and gauze, then put on your safety glasses. 3. Heat the basin slowly, until almost all of the water has evaporated. Turn off the Bunsen burner. (Note: If the basin is heated too fast, liquid might start to spit.) Leave the basin to stand so that the remaining water evaporates as the basin cools.
What does evaporation mean? Dictionary e·vap·o·ra·tion noun becoming vapour: a process in which something is changed from a liquid to a vapour without its temperature reaching boiling point Internet Evaporation is the process by which water is converted from its liquid form to its vapour form and thus transferred from land and water masses to the atmosphere. Evaporation from the oceans accounts for 80% of the water delivered as precipitation, with the balance occurring on land, inland waters and plant surfaces.
