A demonstration for skills of Ms. Publisher using direction approach will be given. Groups will be formed. I will show samples from internet foster their critical thinking using intervening skills. Time given to the students: 100 minutes to complete their task. Critical Thinking Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills Problem Identification, Formulation and Solution Self Direction Accountability and Adoptability Communication Skills Creativity and Intellectual Curiosity Social Responsibility Formative Assessment

Designs in Microsoft Publisher (Week 3 and 4) Task 21 st Century Teaching methodology Activity A wall calendar on a student selected theme: o Flowers o Cars o School campus o World wonders o Architecture Students will add 2 more pages to their previous files. I will ask students to incorporate features that they have seen in their daily lives to enhance their creative skills. Student will perform this activity individually. Time given to the student: 60 minutes so the students will also learn time management. Monitoring and observing approach will be adopted to assess their work. 15 Challenges and Solutions Soft copy created during exercise will be used in the activity. Challenge 1 Power breakdown causes loss of data and affects computer performance. Challenge 2 Copy the file in the group members folders prior to the class. UPS and Generator. Constant upgrading of systems and software. Attainment Targets

Communication Systems and the Internet (Week 5 and 6) Task21 st Century Teaching methodology Presentation Internet.ppt Exercise Internet.vsd I will conduct an interactive session outlining internet and its functionality. Known towards unknown. Questioning approach to give them an insight of internet. Students will be asked to share their knowledge about new technologies (Active Exploration). I will ask the students to complete a chart using tools of Ms. Visio. Groups will be formed. Formative Assessment Critical Thinking Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills Problem Identification, Formulation and Solution Self Direction Accountability and Adoptability Communication Skills Creativity and Intellectual Curiosity Social Responsibility

Communication Systems and the Internet (Week 7 and 8) Task21 st Century Teaching methodology Activity Students will create a layout design of a computer lab using Ms Visio. Essential components will be explained to the students in the Direction phase. They will select the layout according to their choice. A sample print will be shown using Intervening approach. Student will perform this activity individually. Time given to the student: 60 minutes so the students will also learn time management. Monitoring and observing approach will be adopted to assess their work. 21 Challenges and Solutions Students creativity in designing the computer lab demands more time. Challenge 1 Power breakdown causes loss of data and affects computer performance. Challenge 2 Students will learn to complete their work using shortcuts like grouping. UPS and Generator. Constant upgrading of systems and software. Attainment Targets

Database in Microsoft Access (Week 9) Task21 st Century Teaching methodology Discussion Applications of databases in daily life, comparison with manual file keeping system, benefits and limitations will be done using Questioning and Listening approach. Formative Assessment Critical Thinking Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills Problem Identification, Formulation and Solution Self Direction Accountability and Adoptability Communication Skills Creativity and Intellectual Curiosity Social Responsibility

Database in Microsoft Access (Week 10 and 11) Task21 st Century Teaching methodology Exercise To create an employee database. Table Form I will demonstrate the basic skills of Ms Access. Using students knowledge of the data, I will facilitate them to create a database. With the help of listening and monitoring approach, students will be guided to choose fields, their data types, form and data entry. I will encourage students to suggest more relevant fields. Work will be performed in pairs. Formative Assessment Critical Thinking Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills Problem Identification, Formulation and Solution Self Direction Accountability and Adoptability Communication Skills Creativity and Intellectual Curiosity Social Responsibility

Database in Microsoft Access (Week 12 and 13) Task21 st Century Teaching methodology Exercise To create an employee database. Query Report I will outline the purpose of creating queries. I will ask them to come up with their own query and then decide the fields and operators. Demonstration to teach them the use of Query Builder. Work will be performed in pairs. Formative Assessment Critical Thinking Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills Problem Identification, Formulation and Solution Self Direction Accountability and Adoptability Communication Skills Creativity and Intellectual Curiosity Social Responsibility

Database in Microsoft Access (Week 14 and 15) Task21 st Century Teaching methodology Activity To create a student database. Students will carry out the work individually. I will ask the students to create form, queries and reports for the student database. 60 minutes will be given to the students so they will have to time themselves accordingly. Monitoring and observing approach will be adopted to assess their work. Summative Assessment Critical Thinking Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills Problem Identification, Formulation and Solution Self Direction Accountability and Adoptability Communication Skills Creativity and Intellectual Curiosity Social Responsibility

Attainment Targets(Access) Use of Databases Database Components Types of Databases DBMS RDBMS Primary key Foreign key Field Record Data type Field size Input mask Editing Form Comparison and conditional Operator

Challenges and Solutions Selection of group members. Challenge 1 Power breakdown causes loss of data and affects computer performance. Challenge 2 Change of group in few cases will be done ONLY on successful completion of a certain task. UPS and Generator. Constant upgrading of systems and software. Attainment Targets

Research Project To facilitate independent learning, students will create a database. I will reinforce the main components of database using Questioning Technique. 4 groups will be formed. I will give them guidelines to select a database from daily life. They will create a table, form, queries and reports on a paper. I will facilitate the students by observing and monitoring. Students will be encouraged to use internet, other resources or discussion among group members to present their work in the following week. 10 minutes will be given to each group to showcase their work which will boost their confidence and improve the communication skills. 3 minutes will be reserved for the questions from the audience.
