10 Establishment of the «Burshtyn TPP Island» Chronology of Events November 1-3, 1995 – initial meeting of UCTE experts with Ukrainian specialists in Lviv. January 1996 – first meeting of the Technical Committee UCTE/CENTREL/Ukraine. 1995– elaboration and approval of the Catalogue of Measures on integration of the «Burshtyn TPP Island» to UCTE/CENTREL – Agreement on long-term physical delimitation of Burshtyn TPP Island from IPS of Ukraine was signed. April 6-20, 2002 – tests and 2 weeks trial operation of the «Burshtyn TPP Island» before connection to UCTE power system. July 1, 2002 – «Burshtyn TPP Island» was switched on one year trial parallel operation with UCTE. July 1, 2003 – Constant operation of «Burshtyn TPP Island» with UCTE. October10, 2004 – Resynchronization of II synchronous zone of UCTE. Switching on OHL 400 kV Mukachevo-Roshior (Romania)

11 1.Increasing of capacity of existing units of Burshtyn TPP 2.Modernization of switching equipment and relay systems 3.Increasing of power export up to 600 – 650 MW 4.Development of fiber-optical communication lines Burshtyn TPP Island. Plans for Development

12 On the Way to Meet UCTE Requirements. Studies -Studies of the adequacy of Ukrainian normative documentation to the OH standards; -Studies of the adequacy of the Ukrainian IPS for synchronous operation with European Power System (N-1, stability, voltage regulation, power reserve control, emergency procedures, information exchange, etc.); -Studies of generation units to participate in primary and secondary regulation; -Studies of the electrical substations; -Development of the Ukrainian Grid Code.

13 On the Way to Meet UCTE Requirements. Studies to Be Finished Development of plan-schedule for II stage of HPP rehabilitation; - Harmonization of Ukrainian energy industry legislation in accordance with European requirements; - Development of project documentation for modernization of electrical substations; - Development of plan-schedule for modernization of TPP units to participate in primary and secondary regulation; - Development of plan-schedule for voltage control modernization.
