Region Scotland and the North Location North of Longtown and Bishop Auckland Sensitivities – Feeder 10 Glenmavis to Saltwick NTS/DN Exit Zones SC1,2,3,4, NO1,2 Sensitive to St. Fergus flows High St Fergus flows mean capacity will be available As St Fergus flows reduce, exit capacity will become constrained Small quantity of substitutable capacity Compressor flow modifications, including reverse flow capability, will then provide significant amounts of capacity without requiring Planning Act timescales Capacity may be more limited in the sensitivity area due to smaller diameter pipelines Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)688.948.4 (Mscm/d)62.64.4 NTS/ DN Zones

Region The North-West towards West Midlands South of Longtown, North of Alrewas and East of Elworth Sensitivities – feeder to Samlesbury and Blackrod NTS/DN Exit Zones NW1, WM1 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a good probability that capacity could be substituted. Capacity likely to be available on main feeder sections between Carnforth and Alrewas Highly sensitive to national supply pattern and use of storage; this area was historically supplied by gas from the north but increasingly receives gas from the south. Potential non-planning Act reinforcements could release capacity but then significant pipeline reinforcement would be required, …particularly in the sensitivity region around Blackrod (North Lancashire and Greater Manchester) Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)1,139.5245.1 (Mscm/d)103.622.3 NTS/ DN Zones

Region The North-West towards North Wales West of Elworth and Audley (feeder 4) NTS/DN Exit Zones NW2, WA1 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a good probability that capacity could be substituted but this is from direct connect offtakes where the capacity could be booked. Potential non-planning Act reinforcements could release small quantities of additional capacity but then significant pipeline reinforcement would be required resulting in long (Planning Act) timescales This is an extremity of the system with limited local supplies (Burton Point) but a significant number of storage facilities Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)315.4183.5 (Mscm/d)28.716.7 NTS/ DN Zones

Region The North-East and Northern East-Midlands South of Bishop Auckland, North of Peterborough and Wisbech and East of Nether Kellet Sensitivities – Brigg NTS/DN Exit Zones NE1,2,3 EM1,2 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a very good probability that capacity could be substituted. There should be capacity available in this region assuming stable North East supplies Non-planning act reinforcements could make additional capacity available. There are a significant number of power stations in this region and this may impact on future agreement of ramp rates Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)1,544.8292.6 (Mscm/d)140.426.6 NTS/ DN Zones

Region The West-Midlands towards South Wales West of Churchover Sensitivites – South of Cilfrew NTS/DN Exit Zones WM3,SW1, WA2 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a limited quantity of capacity could be substituted. Exit Capacity availability is highly sensitive to Milford Haven flows Low supplies result in reduced South Wales pressures which may limit capacity High flows result in reduced pressures in the West Midlands which may limit capacity Potential non-planning Act reinforcements could release small quantities of capacity …but then significant pipeline reinforcement would be required Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)581.352.7 (Mscm/d)52.84.8 NTS/ DN Zones

Region Central West Midlands and East Midlands South Of Alrewas, North of Churchover, West of Wisbech Sensitivities – Austrey to Shustoke NTS/DN Exit Zones EM3,4, WM2 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a limited scope that capacity could be substituted. Potential non-planning Act reinforcements could release small amount of capacity …but then significant pipeline reinforcement would be required Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)302.163.0 (Mscm/d)27.55.7 NTS/ DN Zones

Region Peterborough to Aylesbury North of Aylesbury, South of Peterborough and Wisbech, West of Cambridge, Whitwell and Huntingdon NTS/DN Exit Zones EA6,7 Substitution - the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a limited scope for substitution from the single offtake within the region but there is scope for substitution from the downstream Southern region Capacity availability is sensitive to demand increases downstream in the South West region Potential non-planning Act reinforcements could release capacity Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)123.724.8 (Mscm/d)11.22.3 NTS/ DN Zones

Region Norfolk North of Diss and Cambridge, East of Wisbech NTS/DN Exit Zones EA1,2,3 Substitution - the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a good probability that capacity could be substituted. Additional capacity is available assuming stable Bacton supplies The region is sensitive to South East demand – if demand increases in the South-East then capacity may be constrained in Norfolk Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)197.951.9 (Mscm/d)18.04.7 NTS/ DN Zones

Region The South-West South of Wormington and Lockerley Sensitivities- west of Pucklechurch (feeder 14 spur) NTS/DN Exit Zones SW2,3 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a limited scope that capacity could be substituted and exchange rates may be high due to small diameter pipelines. Potential non-planning Act reinforcements could release small quantities of additional capacity but then significant pipeline reinforcement would be required resulting in long (Planning Act) timescales particularly in the sensitivity area due to small diameter pipelines Some sensitivity to low Milford Haven flows. Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)414.362.5 (Mscm/d)37.75.7 NTS/ DN Zones

Region Southern South of Aylesbury and North of Lockerley NTS/DN Exit Zones SO1,2 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a good chance that capacity could be substituted. Sensitive to demand in the South- West – if demand increases in the South-West, capacity may be constrained in this region Potential non-planning Act reinforcements (compressor station modifications) could release a small amount of capacity Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)565.8193.8 (Mscm/d)51.417.6 NTS/ DN Zones

Region Suffolk, North Thames & The South-East South Diss, Cambridge, East of Huntingdon and Whitwell Sensitive areas – Tatsfield, Peters Green NTS/DN Exit Zones EA4,5, NT1,2,3, SE1,2 Substitution – the level of unsold/spare capacity indicates a good chance that capacity could be substituted; however, exchange rates may vary. Potential non-planning Act reinforcements could release small amount of additional capacity but then significant pipeline reinforcement would be required The region is sensitive to Isle of Grain flows Low flows limit capacity The significant number of power stations in the region may impact on future agreement of ramp rates Capacity may be more limited in the sensitivity areas at the extremities of the system Map CapacityObligated Unsold ("Spare") (GWh/day)1,676.6348.1 (Mscm/d)152.431.6 NTS/ DN Zones

Information Obligated Capacity This is the quantity of capacity that we make available through the application processes. We can increase capacity above the obligated level; When system capability allows Through substitution Via funded reinforcement works Substitution If we receive an application for capacity above the obligated capacity level at an offtake we will investigate substituting unsold capacity i.e. moving our obligation to make capacity available from one offtake to another An exchange rate is calculated which means more or less than one unit of capacity might be substituted to make a new unit of capacity available. Sometime substitution is not possible due to local constraints Ramp-rates The rate at which flows can increase at an offtake as set out in the Network Exit Agreement (NExA) Planning Act Works Significant new pipelines require a Development Consent Order (DCO) to be obtained and this can result in capacity lead times of 60 to 84 months. Non-Planning Act Works Works on our existing sites such as modification of compressors and above ground installations may not require planning permission NTS/DN Exit Zones Zones within the distribution networks which are used to identify which NTS offtakes provide capacity Map NTS/ DN Zones
