2 Introduction and Objectives Opportunity for Rugby League to upscale the role charity plays in the development of the sport and its communities. Mandate from the RFL, SL & Championship CEOs, community game and Rugby Leagues charities for the Rugby League Foundation to do this work. Working under the title of Good to Great the Rugby League Foundation has been on the journey of remodelling its work since 2010. The Goal: To significantly develop Rugby Leagues community through leveraging New Money/Resources in a charity context.

3 RUGBY LEAGUE CARES New charity, unifying existing family of charities: Rugby League Foundation, Heritage Trust, RFL Benevolent Fund, Super League and Championship charities. Helping the sports family and broad community: -Past: Celebrate heritage & traditions -Present: Support Family, especially in times of hardship & distress -Future: Support grassroots projects

5 Membership Aim – To become the biggest club in Rugby League (10,000 by 2015) Members come from: Public - (Fans) Game - (Pro & Community) Members: Have fun, socialise. Help each other, and Rugby League. Fund Raise.

6 2013 Plan Grants Target to distribute £40k in grants to support the development of grass roots projects. Typically awards will be made of approximately £1000 per application. Welfare New programme. Inspired by Men of League Foundation in Oz. Target 20/30 cases of Welfare assistance. Administer Pro Players Ed Fund Heritage Wembley Statue. Link to and benefit from the RLWC2013. Carry out a Heritage Audit. Support existing projects in clubs and wider community. Benevolent Fund Remains independent. BF & RLC work together to raise money for acute injuries and specialist support cases. Income & Resources RFL Members Events Programme: -Pre Season Members Event -Pennine Trail Challenge -Past Players Olympics -Anniversary Dinner -Community Awards -World Cup Event with Men of League, League for Life. Sponsorships Grants Earned Income - Merchandise

7 Stakeholder Benefits Charity playing a greater role, reaching out and supporting Rugby Leagues broad community. A single charity to support, and find support. Pooling of talent and resources. Opportunities for levels of the game to be involved and benefit. Past, present and future. Great Publicity. International, national, regional and local.
