1 Riverwood International Charter School, one of the sixteen high schools in the Fulton County School System, opened in the fall of Accredited by the Georgia Department of Education, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the International Baccalaureate Organization, Riverwood International Charter School is a four year academic, college/career preparatory high school offering a broad program and experiences that address the interpersonal, social, physical, and academic needs of its students. Riverwood is a comprehensive high school and the site of Fulton Countys International Studies Magnet Program. Riverwood is the only Fulton County school offering both the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programs. This prestigious college prep institution has a diverse, talented student body and faculty. One of the unique features of this school, where 90% of the students go on to major colleges and universities, is the level of opportunity for parents to be actively involved in their childs education. In addition, our students are regularly awarded Georgia HOPE Scholarships and rank among the highest achievers in the nation on the SAT and ACT Raider Drive Sandy Springs, Georgia Advanced Placement (AP) scores for 2012: 5 = 7%, 4 = 20%, 3 = 28%, 2 = 26%, 1 = 19% 2012 IB diploma pass rate: 95% Number of diploma candidates: 40 Number of candidates who passed the diploma: 38 Average exam grade obtained by candidates who passed the diploma: 4.8 SAT Averages for Class of 2012: Critical Reading: 544, Math: 546, Writing: Total: 1,631 ACT Average for Class of 2012: 24.5 According to U.S. News and World Report, Riverwood International Charter School is ranked #2 in Fulton County Schools, #5 in Georgia public schools, and #291 in the United States. Among the factors included in determining the rankings is college readiness, as well as student success on standardized tests such as Advanced Placement (AP) and in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. A= B= C= F= The numeric average is cumulative and figured on a 100 point scale. Honors, AP and IB courses receive an additional seven points added to the final passing class grade.
