PenReader Handwriting Recognition PenReader is handwriting text recognition engine capable for recognition of dynamic handwriting. It means that PenReader takes not only the pathway of the pen, but also direction and order of all gestures in symbols and letters into consideration.

PenReader Natural Handwriting PenReader allows user to write in his own manner, in any part of the screen PenReader Others and what is more important, it does not require any special training or adjustments, it is ready to use right after installation.

PenReader Customizable handwriting style Customizable handwriting style helps to recognize text more accurate and faster, just choose a convenient way of writing various symbols in "Copy-book" menu item.

PenReader Inclined text recognition If handwriting appears not horizontally (e.g. diagonally on the screen) recognition engine could detect the Inclination angle before recognition.

PenReader Orthographic correction Pre-defined dictionary could be used during recognition. User can even create and update his own dictionary. Such dictionary could improve recognition quality significantly.

PenReader Multi-row Recognition Mode Any number of handwritten lines could be recognized in this mode. Text could be handwritten in natural mode, convenient for user. This mode mostly suits big input-fields, such as touch- screens of TabletPCs.

PenReader Letter-by-letter recognition mode When working in this mode, recognition engine takes all gestures within timeout as one letter. This mode is best for using within small input area, and, in addition, it has best quality of recognition

PenReader Wide language support 30 European languages Albanian Arabic Bulgarian Catalan Croatian Czech Danish Dutch English Estonian Finnish French German Greek Hungarian Hebrew Icelandic Italian Latvian Lithuanian Norwegian Polish Portuguese Romanian Russian Slovak Slovenian Spanish Swedish Turkish Any other language based on Latin or Cyrillic alphabet could be added shortly!

PenReader Multi-platform PenReader is released for the following platforms: Due to multi-platforming of recognition core it could be easily redesigned to any hardware and software system. Windows Mobile PocketPC MS Windows PC (both desktop and TabletPC) Windows CE.NET Symbian UIQ 3.0 NEW Symbian S60 v5 NEW

PenReader Low system requirements Minimum system requirements for PenReader are: CPU: >200MHz Disk space: 4-8 MB Memory: ~2.5 MB These requirements are enough for fluent recognition of printed- like text.

PenReader Speed and accuracy Letter-by-letterPrinted-like* *with orthographic correction Cursive text* *with orthographic correction English~3%3-4%9% German~4%5%10% Russian~3%2-3%6% Number of mistakes for different languages and recognition modes. Average speed of recognition for CPU 400 MHz and memory 2-4MB is about 40 symbols per second(sps) in Letter-by-letter mode, 25 in Printed-like with orthographic and 20 in Cursive mode. Recognition speed strongly depends on CPU. Quality of recognition strongly depends on style of writing, resolution of the screen and characteristics of input field

PenReader Cooperation Model We provide developers with PenReader SDK (sample codes, API, all necessary support, etc). This license does not include tool to add new characters, so if it is needed to add any new character, you should describe the problem to us and our engineers will apply needed changes if possible.

Thank you for your attention! Alexey Chikov Business development manager Paragon Software Group (Smart Handheld Devices Division) ext.327
