INDIA IS COMPLEX India is huge India is diverse India has its extremes So we are not going to be able to describe everything about India to you but we will tell you a few things.... India is very complex It is huge It is diverse It hides extremes It is both very old ... and very new But somehow it all works... no one quite knows how but it does and you can make lots of money here.... So lets get started. And somehow all of this works ... well!

India is very complex It is huge It is diverse It hides extremes It is both very old ... and very new But somehow it all works... no one quite knows how but it does and you can make lots of money here.... So lets get started. And somehow all of this works ... well!

$509 $949 $949 North North East $325 $509 Hindi Belt North Central $419 West $569 But to make things somewhat simpler, think of India as 7 regions There are states (Hindi Belt) which have 28% of India’s population but only 6% of India’s GDP, while there are states (North India) which have 8% of India’s population but 27% of India’s GDP Now there are many languages that are spoken in India. So even Indians can’t get around India as easily… we need translators in many parts of the country What people eat is different in different parts of the country... from tandoori to idlis, etc... How they dress and look is different ... They have different heros and in fact there are several different film industries within India The people in the north look different, talk different, eat different, marry different, wear different clothes and see different films. They have different heros and sporting preferences than people in the south, or the east or the center etc. They do different jobs, and have different levels of income. They also have very different levels of education, health, etc. In terms of terrain, the highest mountains, some great beaches, some tropical areas, deserts, great rivers, lakes, etc..... $1,043 East South $789 Average GDP per capita for that particular region

10 Just take a look at a regular currency note
Just take a look at a regular currency note. It has information in 16 languages so that people can understand... We have 140 TV channels of which more than 100 are local regional channels in different languages. India has 8 major classical dance form with mainly 2 types of classical music – Hindustani & Carnatic It has 1600 dailies in Local and English languages and architecture from all kinds and parts of the world But there is one thing we dont have at all .... sportsmen. For all its size and diversity India has never won a gold in the Olympics outside of hockey and that too last in 1980.

and 350M poor who earn less than $1 a day Some of the best engineering schools in the world, producing 350,000 engineers and 800,000 MBAs every year . . . while 35% of its population is illiterate 17,000 colleges and universities . . . and 13 million children who do not attend schools Largest production of wheat and rice in the world . . . and 47% of children who are malnourished India has extremes within its boundaries that would surprise anyone even if they were in one continent... It has 23 billionaires in the Forbes list. 35% of the worlds poor i.e. more than 350 mn people who earn less than $1 a day... India boasts of some of the best engineering schools in the world and some very good business schools. It produces 350 thousand engineers & 800 thousand MBA every year, and at the same time 35% of its population is illiterate. It has colleges and universities and the same time 13 million children do not attend schools While India is one of the largest producer of wheat and rice in world, at the same time 47% of children are malnourished. Its top 3 richest states have a average GDP per capita of $1500 and the bottom three have one of $260 It has 3 cities with more than 10 million people each and has 92,500 villages with less than 200 people each GDP per capita of top 3 states of $1, and that of the bottom 3 of $260 30 cities with more than 1 million people each . . . and 92,500 villages with less than 200 people each
