1 INTRODUCTION Goal is to attain self sufficiency in Foodgrains by Foodgrains production anticipated to be increased to 7.00 Lakh MT in from 5.13 Lakh MT in ( before Perspective Plan). Certified seed production increased to 3700 MT in from 280 MT in ( before Perspective Plan). Hybrid Paddy seed (KRH –II, DRRH-I) production increased to 10 MT in
2 1. STRATEGY FOR ENHANCEMENT OF CROP PRODUCTION Supply of certified seeds to the farmers. Balanced Use of Fertilizers. Improvement in irrigation water use efficiency. Improvement of Cultural Practices (SRI, ICM, Hybrid).
3 STRATEGY (contd..) Adequate flow of credit. Gearing up of extension activities through ATMA Ensuring peoples participation through Panchayet. Growth rate in foodgrains production in over is 12% & targeted growth in over is 9%.

Only nos. of KCC distributed during last three years. Banks are to be more proactive for issuing KCC. Jhumia farmers has to be given KCC for which norms to be relaxed.

15 5. AGRICULTURE EXTENSION NETWORK ATMA Training of Master trainers, AES Team completed. Preparation of SREP going on. Conversion of Primary & Secondary data is at final stage. SEWP to be completed shortly.
16 6. MARKETING REFORMS Steps taken for amendment of Tripura Agricultural Produce Market Act, 1980 incorporating the provisions as per guidelines given in the Model Act. Draft amendment Bill to be placed before the Cabinet for consideration.
17 MARKETING (Contd.) Hub for supply of quality seeds of paddy, pulses, oilseeds for N.E.States. MoU with NSC & NAFED for marketing of certified & Hybrid paddy seeds.
18 7. RISK MANAGEMENT Insurance coverage on notified crops viz. Paddy & Potato being given to protect farmers from inclement of weather. Support price of Potato is declared by the State Govt. to protect farmers from distress sale.
