2 What is working in Camp like? What positions are available? What type of training do I require? What is seasonal contract work? How does transportation and work rotations work? What is the salary range? What is the selection process? Introduction – Agenda For Today

3 Working in a remote location: -Remote accommodations and catering -Small camps (15+clients) to large camps (1000++clients) -Located away from towns and cities -Work for up to a maximum of 21 days straight -Most camps have a fitness facility, internet and satellite TV What is working in Camp like?

4 Camp Attendant: -Clean and maintain all living areas of the camp including sleeping quarters, front entrances, recreation rooms, hallways, washrooms, utility rooms and any other sites as indicated by the client. -Make the beds and change linen weekly, or as required. - Vacuum, dust, clean ashtrays and empty garbage from all sleeping areas and common areas. -Wash towels, aprons and dish towels. Remember to clean the dryer lint screens after every cycle. -Empty and burn (if applicable) garbage daily and disinfect the containers. -Sweep and mop hallways and entranceways. -Assist with the unloading, loading and placing of supplies. -Wash showers, sinks, toilets, launder towels (twice daily). -Provide clean containers with plastic liners for soiled towels and wash cloths. -Remove kitchen garbage. -Sweep and mop dining room floor. -Sweep and mop kitchen floor. Empty bucket after each use. -Keep an accurate record of all bedding allotted in camp and report any shortages to the cook. Store all linen in a secure place What Positions Are Available?

5 Qualifications: -WHIMIS -First Aid -Previous Housekeeping experience is an asset, you will be required to fully clean multiple rooms in a fast pace environment What Positions Are Available?

6 What are the Physical Demands of the Camp Attendant Position? -Long hours on your feet -Constant bending, stooping, reaching, carrying and lifting -Some rooms can have confined spaces -Snow shoveling or hauling hoses to hook up water will require the ability to lift heavier objects What Positions Are Available?

7 Kitchen General Helper: -Assisting in the kitchen as required. -For example, clean and sanitize all pots, dishes, glasses, cups ect after each meal -Clean and sanitize dining room area -Replenish dessert and condiments as required daily -Clean all floors, exhaust fans, canopies and walls on a daily or regular basis -Empty and burn all garbage and disinfect containers. -Assist with loading, unloading and stocking of groceries and supplies. 9 What are the Physical Demands of the Kitchen Helper Position? - Long hours on your feet - Constant bending, stooping, reaching, carrying and lifting - Some rooms can have confined spaces - Physically able to help load and unload the boxes and bags grocery trucks

10 2 nd Cook: Possess good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ensure all areas of the kitchen and dining room facilities, including tables and chairs, are sanitized and clean at all times. Help wash the kitchen and dining room walls and ceilings as required. Prepare and set up a full salad bar for lunch and supper. Feature a variety of salads, from four to six. The salad bar should also include cheese and pickle trays, cold cuts and fresh vegetables. Rotate all fruits and vegetables in the fridges and storeroom to ensure that waste is kept to a minimum. Keep desserts and condiments replenished as necessary. Assisting in the cutting, presentation and serving of nightly desserts. Wash the tables and condiment containers down between meal settings. Be responsible for the sanitized cleaning of all pots, dishes, etc. as required after each meal. Sanitize work areas after each use and clean the cutlery trays frequently. Assist with the cleaning of the canopy on a weekly basis. Be responsible for the complete cleaning of all fridges and freezers on a regular basis. Be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the steam table before, during and after meal service. Set up and prepare the rig boxes (hot meals going to personnel working on the rig) as required. Meals in the rig box should be identical to the one served in camp. All hot food must be covered with stretch wrap and foil. Once the rig box is returned it should be cleaned and replenished with dishes and utensils. Assist with the unloading, loading and stocking of all groceries and supplies. Assist with all inventories as required and as otherwise instructed by the cook. What Positions Are Available?

13 Sandwich Maker: -Reporting to the Chef, the sandwich maker is responsible for making a variety of sandwiches, wraps, burgers daily -Prepare, cut and wrap sandwiches for customers -Slice cold meats and cheese by hand or my machine -Cook, mix and season ingredients to make dressings, fillings and spreads -Wash the tables and condiments containers between meal settings -Assist with cleaning out fridges, freezers, loading and unloading and stocking groceries and supplies What Positions Are Available?

Chef: -Prepare and present top quality meals and pastries according to weekly menu plan, menu specifications and crew size -Ensure proper and effective utilization of all groceries -Ensure paperwork and inventories are accurately completed and forwarded to head office as instructed -Meal sheets -Menu planners & weekly temperature logs -Time sheets -Grocery orders & Inventories -Safety meeting minutes -Stock, inventory, assist with loading and unloading groceries and supplies -Supervise staff

17 Qualifications: -Must have previous kitchen experience in a Camp Setting -6 months management training and formal culinary training -Food Safe & WHIMIS & First Aid -Must have comprehensive computer knowledge What Positions Are Available?

19 Baker: The Baker is responsible for the preparation and baking of all pies, squares, bread products and daily sweets as required. Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Prepare and bake all pies, squares, bread products and daily sweets as required. Proper cleaning and sanitations of any equipment utilized. Prepare, cook and service night meals and breakfast meals as required. Assist with unloading, loading and stocking of groceries and supplies. Assist with taking inventory. Pre-breakfast preparation and breakfast short-order service. Sandwich preparation for the day time lunch when required. Supervise all other camp staff on night shift. What Positions Are Available?

22 Rig Cook: -Comply and ensure that good hygiene regulations are carried out and followed -Check out residents, inspect rooms for damage, prepare for housekeeping, update database -Ensure food costs are controlled and groceries are utilized daily -Plan weekly menus -Prepare daily rig boxes -Prepare baking for the camp, breads, buns, pastries and desserts -Stock, inventory, assist with loading and unloading of groceries -Ensure paperwork and inventories are accurately completed and forwarded to head office as instructed -Address any clients concerns in a professional and positive manner -Ensure work areas, equipment and camp are cleaned and sanitized on a routine basis. -Supervise Staff What Positions Are Available?

26 What Type of Training Do I Require?

27 What is Seasonal Contract Work? The company CANNOT guarantee continued full time employment Contracts range from 1 to 3 weeks periods with the opportunity to receive another contract if available for work We will do our best to provide continuous employment, however this depends on the demand within the industry and this can fluctuate and change without notice It is necessary for employees to sign a contract before going out to work You may be required to sign in the office (Edmonton, AB) or out in site The contract will provide all of the pertinent information regarding the job

28 How Does Transportation and Work Rotations Work? Transportation: The company provides to and from the remote sites from the point of dispatch– Edmonton, Alberta The company does not cover travel expenses to and from the point of dispatch It may be in the form of vehicle, grocery truck, or commercial transportation such as Greyhound It is the employees responsibility to get to the point of dispatch on the day of departure Those from out of town are responsible to arrive in town a day before departure Employees are not allowed to drive their own vehicles into site There is parking available for employees vehicles in the time that they are in camp For the personal safety of our employees, under no circumstances are they to leave the work site without notifying the office or your Supervisor

29 How Does Transportation and Work Rotations Work? Work Rotations: Rotations range from 1 to 3 weeks time The maximum time in camp is 3 weeks in which you are required to take a week off. This time off is out of camp and the company does not cover any expenses during that time You are required to travel to the dispatch point again when returning to camp It is important to pack for the weather, winter coats and proper footwear as well as toques and gloves If you are asked to go for a 1 week rotation, pack for up to a three week rotation, you may be asked to transfer to another site or stay longer if possible. Bring enough medications to last you up to a 3 week period of time Always ensure that you have enough personal hygiene, toiletries, medication and clothing for up to a 3 week period of time.

37 What is the Selection Process 1.Screen resumes for experience and qualifications - experienced cooks and bakers who have not had any previous camp experience will be started off at a 2 nd or cooks helper position and then gradual responsibility and position increases 2. Contact selected resumes for a Pre-Screening Interview over the phone -we will only contact those applications who we wish to ask further questions 3. Reference Checks - Three Professional references are mandatory, please ensure that we can get a hold of them 4.Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Testing -These camp positions are safety sensitive and Drug and Alcohol Testing is mandatory prior to employment as well as random testing and reasonable cause 5.Pre-Employment OnBoarding Session - final candidates will attend a mandatory 1 day long orientation

38 You MUST present the following if offered employment: 1.Your actual Social Insurance Card (SIN) – you will not be permitted to work for us without presenting your SIN card.
