AND To use specific dramatic approaches and conventions in structured ways for effective exploration of ideas, texts, issues and themes. VALUES… COMPETENCIES… Do Now/ Nā Mahi: Look at the cards with different traditional oral texts on them. Put them into groups.

8 Which ones are narrative like the monologue we are preparing for? Bring them up and stick them on the board.

9 To build our confidence, we are going to work on Storytelling/ Pūrākau. This is what I think I know about Pūrākau… Traditional storytelling Word comes from Pū (roots) and rākau (tree). Relates to inter-connectedness that they bring. Highly prized, carefully constructed and skilfully delivered. What do you know?
