THE BUILDING PLANNING AND CONSTRUCTION TOOK 14 YEARS BETWEEN 1840 TO 1854
THE BUILDING WAS USED AS SUMMER RESIDENCE OF PORTUGAL'S ROYAL FAMILY. IN 1910 THE PALACE WAS CONVERTED INTO A MUSEUM
THE BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED WITH A MIXTURE OF ARCHITECTURAL STYLES: BAVARIAN, ROMANTIC, GOTHIC AND MOORISH
THE PALACE IS SURROUNDED BY TREES
BUT I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THEM AWAY
YOU ENTER THE PALACE THROUGH A MASSIVE GATE
THE INTERIOR SIDE OF THE GATE IS VERY ORNATE
INTERIOR PATIOS WITH BEAUTIFUL PLANTS
FROM THE TERRACES YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE SURROUNDING AREAS
ONE OF THE MANY ENTRIES TO GO INSIDE THE BUILDING
IT APPEARS THAT HE HOLDS THE WHOLE BUILDING ON HIS SHOULDERS
THE BUILDING HAS A NICE LARGE CHURCH WITH BEAUTIFUL STAINED GLASS WINDOWS
THE INTERIORS HAVE VERY ORNATE CEILINGS
A WALL PLATE LIKE A PIECE OF ART
VERY NICE COLUMN CAPITAL
ELABORATE DINING ROOM WITH ORIGINAL FURNITURE AND TABLE SETTING
AND HERE IS WHERE THE FOOD WAS PREPARED
